Most manufacturers, including Fox and RockShox, recommend a basic lower leg service (oil and seals) every 50 hours of riding, and a full damper rebuild every 125–200 hours or once a year — whichever comes first. Riders who log a lot of bike park days or ride in dusty, muddy Southern California trail conditions should lean toward the shorter end of that range. If you’re not sure how many hours are on your suspension, a good rule of thumb is once per season.
A few common warning signs: the suspension feels harsh or loses small-bump sensitivity, you notice oil residue near the seals, you hear clunking or squelching noises during compression, the fork or shock bottoms out too easily, or rebound feels slow or inconsistent. If you’re noticing any of these, it’s worth bringing it in before minor wear turns into damaged internals.
Pricing varies by service and component — see our full Suspension Services pricing for current rates, or check Suspension Setups for on-trail session pricing.
A lower leg service is lighter maintenance — cleaning, fresh oil, and new wipers/seals to keep dust and grit out. A full Factory Rebuild goes deeper: complete disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, damper and air spring service, new seals and oil throughout, and a nitrogen recharge where applicable. If your suspension is due for its annual service or hasn’t been touched in over a year, a full rebuild is the better move.

Stock suspension tunes are built for an average rider — not your specific weight, terrain, or riding style. Custom valving modifies your damper’s internal shim stack to change how it responds to compression and rebound. It’s a good fit if you feel under- or over-damped, you’ve maxed out your external adjusters and still want more control, or you’re a heavier or lighter rider than what the stock tune was built around.
Bushings that are too tight — whether from the factory or after wear — cause stiction, a harsh-feeling stroke, and premature seal wear. Bushing resizing precisely re-machines the bushings to the correct tolerance, improving small-bump sensitivity and extending the life of your fork. This is common on newer forks straight from the factory, or any fork that feels tight and sticky in its first inch of travel.
We work on Fox, RockShox, Öhlins, and DVO suspension, covering forks and shocks across trail, enduro, and downhill setups.
We aim to keep turnaround time as quick as possible, while also maintaining a high quality of service. In the off-season (October through April), turnaround is typically 2 to 3 business days. During high season, turnaround is typically 5 to 10 days.
We prefer that customers provide just the fork and/or shock. If you’d rather not remove it yourself, we offer a removal and install option for an additional $25.
Coil-sprung suspension is generally lower maintenance than air, since there’s no air spring to service — but the damper still needs regular oil changes and seal replacement on the same schedule. Air suspension needs both damper service and periodic air can/seal maintenance, since air springs are more prone to losing pressure over time.
